FAQs

  • For outdoor sports, yes. Coaches determine the practice dates and times.

However, due to limited gym space for indoor sports (basketball, club volleyball, etc.), the MACRD staff determines practice dates/ times. If you have a date or time that absolutely will not work, please let Shawna at shawna@macrecdistrict.com know prior to the season start date and she will do her best to make accommodations.

  • Yes! Unless you specifically request to not have your child on your team, or you are coaching a league that your child is not in, you will be their coach.

  • In order to keep teams as even as possible: no.

Teams are based on information indicated on player’s registration form (age, perceived skill level, etc.). Players can request a coach or another player on their team, but requests are not guaranteed.

  • We provide all equipment that might be needed (balls, cones, air pump, and first aid kit). You will receive the equipment bags prior to the start of the season at the coaches meeting and must be returned at the end of the season.

**Due to basketball being staffed, the MACRD staff will bring equipment to the gyms.

  • Rosters are emailed out. Coaches will get early access to the rosters at the coaches meeting prior to the start of the season.

  • If you are unable to access them please let the MACRD staff know so we can try to reach them and get their correct information. If they let you know mid-season that their information is changing, please let the MACRD staff know so we can also update our records.

  • If you are unable to attend a practice, cancel it and let your team know. In addition, please let the MACRD staff know so we can inform players if they call the Aquatic Center. Practices can only be hosted by adults who have been approved to volunteer through the MACRD.

If you are unable to attend a game, try to find a parent/ guardian to fill in and also let the MACRD staff know. If no parent/ guardian is available let the MACRD staff know so we can find a staff member to assist.

  • You should cancel practice if you are unable to attend or if the weather is deemed unsafe (lightning/ thunder, smoke, snow, etc.).

The official MACRD inclement weather policy can be found here.

  • We rely on volunteers to coach our recreational leagues, so as a thank you at the end of the season, if all duties and expectations are met, we will credit your account for one (1) registration fee per team coached.
